|
Dry skin is a skin condition itself as well as an accompanying symptom of various skin diseases. Moisturizers are often used in the prevention and treatment of dry skin and skin diseases. It can alleviate symptoms and play a vital role in restoration of skin barrier function. Moisturizers can be divided based on their contents, mechanism of action, formulation and pH. The choice of moisturizer for specific skin disease is important, but advice for moisturizer in the real world is often not evidence-based. This review will examine scientific data regarding the moisturizer for each skin diseases.
